There appeared to be a teeming number of Spider Crabs around Skomer, and the largest one always seemed to be smaller than the next.
We saw this little guy while descending. We first assumed that this was a baby spider crab due to the numerous adult spider crabs we saw during each dive around Skomer, however it does resemble pictures of a Long-legged Crab. Any thoughts? Very much enjoyed watching this creature ‘floating’ in the water column.
We wouldn’t have spotted this crab and its red eyes if we hadn’t explored the cracks in Porth Kerris with our torches. Always take some precious air time to investigate the nooks and crevices.
