The featured picture was taken at Porth Kerris Reef, Cornwall. When we saw this strange anenome-like ‘thing’ swaying in the current and being used as shelter by a Goldsinny wrasse, we had no idea what it was, just that it was worth capturing. From searching, we now believe that they are squid eggs. It is pretty amazing if all these eggs came from one female squid!
No idea what this is! When I stopped to watch it, I couldn’t tell if it was alive or whether it was a string of eggs swaying in the current. Saw quite a few around Skomer during June time.
